The Split area is indeed a charming one. The deep blue waters of the Adriatic Sea hide no farther than 30 kilometres from Split, the Charming Trogir Island, part of the UNESCO heritage since 1997. The lovely medieval town is hiding in its core the surreal Kamerlango Fortress, St. Lawrence Church, the Duke’s Palace, which nowadays serves as a city hall, as well as the clock tower. And, since you enjoy an amazing boat tour, make sure you hop on the small, yet alluring island of Drvenik Veli, because hidden in its core is the Blue Lagoon. And if you are already in a boat tour, see the surrounding islands as well. They are all fairly small, all charming and beautiful, all filled with relics and friendly locals. The most remarkable architectural formation across Dalmatia, the Kliss Fortress is one of the landmarks for all the lovers of the HBO series Game of Thrones. At approximately 15 kilometres from Split, the fortress is located in between the Kozjak and Mosor Mountains, it offers a spectacular view over the mountains, Split and the Adriatic Sea. You can visit the fortress in one of the organised “Game of Thrones” Tours, or you can organise a self-tour, using the local’s indications and your trusty map.
