  • St. Sophie. The person that took over this project was Constantin the Great and its aim was to show the strength and the power of the leaders in the Roman Empire. There was a moment when this was the biggest Christian Church in the world.
  • The Blue Mosque. You can find it under the name of Sultanahmet Camii. Due to the outstanding decorations of blue tiles of iznik and the turbe of the outside, this building definitely deserves to be seen and its history will also leave you speechless.
  • Hippodrome. This has a powerful sense and a cultural sign of the Roman Empire. There are three important remains that you might like to see: the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.
  • The Museums of Turkish Islamic Art. If you are interested in any way about the Islamic artwork, then you might make a good choice going there.
  • Yerebatan Sarayi. The underground cistern that dates from the 14th century can be visited on the classical rhythms and you can make sure you will have a fabulous feeling!
  • Topkapi Palace. It dates from the period of the Ottoman Empire as it was situated right in the middle of the Empire.
  • Suleymaniye Camii. The architect that took over this project was Mimar Sinan and after only 7 years it became one of the most impressive buildings in Istanbul.
  • Archeological Museum. You can find it next to Topkapi Palace and the Gulhane Park. This museum keeps collections from Egyptian, Assyrian, Roman and Byzantine Empires and expensive art collections as well.
  • Dolmabahce Palace. Sultan Abdulmecid lived there and he was delighted with the great view over the Bosphorus and the gardens from the surroundings.
  • Grand Bazaar. It is full of history, people and artists of all type. You can either go and buy carpets, jewellery and different decorations or enjoy the multitude of shops and spots. Being one of the greatest squares in Istanbul, you will have plenty of articles to choose from and finally you will not be able to pick only one of them.
