Bulgary has always attracted me with its simplicity and its amazing views. Its capital, Sofia, is a nice and charmful place where you will not only be able to relax and recharge your energies, but you will also improve your knowledge and so you will have a great experience.

There is a list of some of the most appealing destinations in Sofia:

  • Popa, The Priest – you can find it between the circle made of the streets of Vassil Levski Blvd, Graf Ignatiev Str and Patriarch Evtimii Blvd. you will hardly notice it at first, because of the crowd around it. People of different ages gather and enjoy the night out there.
  • New Bulgarian University in Sofia. This is specially addressed to people who are interested in improving their knowledge or want to see how people study in Sofia.
  • Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski”. This amazing building is situated exactly in the center of the city and anyone can easily observe it. Evlogi Georgiev and Christo Georgiev were responsible for the construction of the building, from early 1888.
  • Eagle’s Bridge. From this point you can go anywhere in Sofia, because it’s like a clue in the map of the city.The public transport is strongly connected to this place and therefore, you can use it as a start point to arrive at your destination.
  • The Central Hali (or Halles, this word comes from French language). You can discover it yourself and the surprise will be even bigger!
  • Flea Market in Sofia. Of course, after visiting so many places, you will be interested in buying some souvenirs and therefore making some presents to your friends. This place is great not only for antiques, but also original and valuable things.
  • The Royal Palace. This is another recommendation for souvenirs and presents. This is next to National Ethnographic museum.
  • National Gallery for Foreign Art. This was started by St. Cyril and Methodius International Foundation, which over the years developed different activities of collecting and involving people.
  • Pancharevo Lake. You should visit if you enjoy outgoing. After driving only 15 km away in the south of Sofia you will reach it and play different water sports.
  • Stauropegial cathedral “St. Alexander Nevski”. Built between the years 1882-1912, for King Alexander II, the cultural cathedral keeps its name even now, in the 21st century.
